PDP’s Lawal thanks people of Zamfara, his opponents after defeating Gov Matawalle

Dauda Lawal, the newly elected governor of Zamfara State, has expressed gratitude to the state’s residents for their support during the election process.

Governor Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 311,976 votes, was defeated by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 377,726 votes.

Lawal stated in a statement on Tuesday that the mission to free Zamfara from poverty, insecurity, and other problems has begun.
The banker pledged to keep his campaign commitments and guarantee everyone’s comfort and prosperity as well as their accountability and respect for the law.

“Under my leadership, Zamfara State will serve as a benchmark for fresh thinking, tenacity, dynamism, and limitless potential.”

Lawal praised the royal fathers, religious leaders, government employees, businesspeople, and “most especially our resilient and dynamic youths.”

The Governor-elect also thanked security forces for upholding law and order and for their quick responses to a variety of problems during and after the election.

All PDP members, supporters, “my political opponents for our hard-won victory,” as well as the media for their coverage, were lauded by Lawal.
