The protests that took place in some state areas this morning have been noted by the Lagos State Government with great concern.
The redesign of the naira and the subsequent scarcity that has resulted in so much hardship and confusion among our people are allegedly the cause of the protesters’ ire.
Governor Sanwo-Olu is of the opinion that there is no need for violence because the Supreme Court is considering this contentious issue and will announce its ruling on February 22.

In the interest of his constituents, he claimed, Lagos State has since joined the legal dispute, with the conviction that the nation’s highest court is qualified to render a decision.
The government’s actions have resulted in an improvement in the fuel situation.
The Lagosian people have been praised by the government for their patience, despite the hardships that the Federal Government’s actions have caused. Residents should maintain their commitment to upholding the law by avoiding any form of incitement from troublemakers.

To ensure that this hardship does not continue in Lagos state, the Governor is working with his colleagues.
