According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), punishing the five party-affiliated governors who are upset over alleged anti-party activities is not its main priority.
According to a report, the party is committed to making sure that Atiku Abubakar wins the presidential election on Saturday, according to Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary.
The activities of the G 5, or five governors, who have endorsed other presidential candidates, are less important to the party, according to Ologungaba.
Although some G-5 governors publicly endorsed other presidential candidates, he declined to say what disciplinary measures the party would implement in response.

He said, “Our next action is to focus on the election. The issues before us are very important. We are focusing on what is important to us as a party. These are issues of serious concern for us and Nigerians, issues of insecurity, poverty, and human development. As we speak we have about 100m Nigerians living in poverty.
“So as a party, we are focused on the election because we want to rescue Nigeria from the misrule of the APC and we are following through with that.”
Remember how the G-5 governors—Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo—insisted that the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, resign his post and allow a southerner to replace him in order to balance the power.
The governors made the decision to oppose the party’s presidential candidate and left the PDP Presidential Campaign Council as well.

Atiku has repeatedly rejected pressure from the governors to get the national chairman to resign, while Ayu refused to do so. The governors have since pitched their tents with their preferred presidential candidates following a number of unsuccessful peace efforts.
While Wike allegedly asked his supporters to support Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, Ortom has since endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party. While Makinde is leaning toward Tinubu, Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi have yet to publicly support Atiku or Obi.
