Breaking: Governor Adeleke Gets Full Backing from Osun PDP Leadership Amid Defection Speculations

In a strong show of solidarity, the leadership caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has passed a unanimous vote of confidence on Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, expressing full support for his leadership and any future political decisions, including speculations surrounding possible defection from the party.
The decision emerged on Saturday following a high-level meeting of the state PDP stakeholders held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo. The gathering featured an extensive deliberation after a strategic briefing from Governor Adeleke himself.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the PDP leadership resolved to stand firmly with the governor “wherever he goes,” even as they acknowledged that consultations are still ongoing regarding his next political move.
The meeting, described as all-inclusive, had in attendance critical stakeholders from across party and government structures. These included representatives from the National Assembly and State Assembly caucuses, the State Executive Council, the PDP State Working Committee, the Forum of Special Advisers, ALGON leadership, party elders, and other notable political heavyweights within the state.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi; Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Senator Lere Oyewumi; former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun; PDP State Chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi; and South-West PDP Vice Chairman, Engr Kamorudeen Ajisafe, among others.
The gathering praised Governor Adeleke’s performance since assuming office and charged him to continue wide consultations both within and outside the state before taking any decisive political action.
Political observers believe the development signals a pivotal moment in Osun politics, as murmurs of potential party realignments gain traction nationally.
