Akeem Adeyemi, Alaafin’s son, wins the Oyo federal seat for a third time
One of Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi’s sons and the current Alaafin of Oyo, Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, has won the federal seat for the Atiba/AFIJIO/Oyo East/Oyo West constituency.
Adeyemi, who is currently running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and represents the federal constituency (APC).
Akeem Adeyemi, one of the sons of the 45th Alaafin, reportedly previously won the federal constituency seat in 2015 and 2019.
He was announced the victor of the federal constituency election that took place on Saturday on Sunday.
The result was declared at the collation centre for the federal constituency situated within the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Oyo East local government area in Akunlemu area of Oyo.
Adeyemi scored a total of 34,822 to defeat all other candidates who participated in the election.

Other candidates among whom are Mudashiru Kamil Akinlabi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored a total of 31,671 while Oyedemi Oyeleru of Accord scored a total of 13,544.
Yesufu Liadi Ademola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored 77 votes, and Ogunniyi Akinyemi Olaoluwa of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) scored a total of 1,951 votes.
Oyekalu Rashid Oyegbami of NNPP got 588 votes.
