The Federal Government was sued in a case involving the contentious Naira re-design policy on Wednesday. The Supreme Court wrapped up the hearing in that case on Wednesday and set the judgment date for March 3.
After hearing arguments in favor of and against the lawsuit brought by some States of the Federation, Justice John Inyang Okoro set the date.
On the grounds that the policy is putting innocent Nigerians through hardship, the states, led by Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara, are asking the Supreme Court to nullify and set aside the policy.

States demanded the revocation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive after accusing him of assuming the role of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The case of the states was presented by legal giant Abdulhakeem Mustapha.
