Govt of Bauchi pledges N10 million to Muda Lawal market fire victims, promises to rebuild shops

The recent fire incident that gutted some shops at the popular Muda Lawal Market in Bauchi, Nigeria, brought some relief to the victims of the incident. The State Governor of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, donated N10 million to them with the promise to rebuild the shops that were damaged in the fire.

When the governor visited the market to assess the level of damage done by the midnight fire, he also made the donation and directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to take an inventory of the loss.

While saying that the money, which was going to be shared among the affected victims in order to provide immediate relief for them, Governor Mohammed also promised to install a transformer in the market in order to boost the power supply in order to improve the commercial activities that are conducted there.

The Chairman of the Muda Lawal Market Association, Bala Mai Kaji, expressed gratitude to the governor for visiting the market. Bala Mai Kaji was speaking on behalf of the victims.

Mai Kaji informed that the association was already assessing the extent of the damage for it to identify those directly affected, assuring that the money donated by Governor Mohammed would be given only to the affected persons. Mai Kaji also informed that the association would be donating the money to those who were directly affected.
