Following a parent’s complaint that his child was expelled from school for using Peter Obi’s election poster to wrap his books, the Lagos State Ministry of Education claims it has recalled a school principal for clarification.

This was stated in a statement released by the ministry’s spokesperson, Ganiu Lawal, on Wednesday in Ikeja.

The complaint of a parent that his child was expelled from school for using the poster of one of the candidates in the most recent election to wrap his books is being looked into by the Ministry of Education, according to Mr. Lawal.

Mr. Lawal asserted that no principal, employee, or teacher would ever receive such instructions from the Lagos State government, the Ministry of Education, or any of its agencies.

According to reports, the incident took place at Odomola Junior Secondary School in Epe. The ministry has called the principal back and will ask him to explain what happened.

Mr. Lawal claimed that Folashade Adefisayo, the commissioner for education, had assured the public that the situation would be handled in accordance with the rigid guidelines of the ministry.

If true, she reportedly said that this would be done as the justification for sending the student home was unacceptable.

Mr. Lawal claims that the commissioner also suggested that a different school principal at Odonguyan had also been disciplined due to a political issue.

She claimed that the principal had faced the proper disciplinary actions after being caught on camera and posted on social media promoting her political choice to students.

“The ministry supports and oversees a public education system free of politics and political undertones.

“A thorough investigation of the matter will be carried out, and anyone found culpable will be subjected to disciplinary measures as laid down in the civil service rules,” part of the statement read.
