Breaking: Labour Party supporters invade INEC office [PHOTOS]
On Tuesday, supporters of Chijoke Edeoga, the Labour Party’s candidate for governor of Enugu State, surrounded the INEC office in Enugu and demanded proof that their candidate had won the election on March 18.
Casmir Agbo, the Enugu State Chairman of the Labour Party, reportedly told the press during a press conference that they were protesting because they didn’t want the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the election results.
It should be remembered that INEC had halted the collation of the governorship election while the differences in the results from two local governments, Nkanu East and Nsukka, were being resolved.
Following that, the Labour Party petitioned INEC regarding the outcomes from Nkanu East LGA.
“The PDP is trying to rig the governorship election, which is why we are here. In each of the 17 local government areas, we decisively prevailed.
By more than 11,000 votes, we prevailed. The outcomes are clear to us. The Nkanu East is the only issue, according to Agbo.
