In connection with the deaths of two people in Ubimini Community over the weekend, police detectives assigned to the Egbeda Police Division in Rivers State’s Emohua Local Government Area have detained James, a purported repentant cultist.
James, also known as “Cross and Die,” is accused of orchestrating the crisis that broke out in the Ubimini community during the Presidential and National Assembly elections and resulted in the deaths of Ruth Osage, a pregnant woman, and Mark Orduize, a member of a local vigilante group.

The development was confirmed by Ikechukwu Wordu, the president of the Ubimini Youth Council.
He claimed that James, a cult member who had turned from his ways, had returned to it and had been apprehended as a result of reliable information.
He’s being held at the Egbeda Police Division right now.
Wordu accused James of enlisting and arming young men for criminal activity in the neighborhood, which resulted in an attempt on his life by neighborhood vigilantes and the death of a pregnant woman.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the public relations officer for the Rivers State Police command, has not yet responded to the news.

On Saturday, February 25, during the presidential and national assembly elections, Iringe-Koko had confirmed the killing in Ubimini.
She reaffirmed that efforts were being made to bring the criminals to justice but insisted that the death had nothing to do with the violence that had occurred during the election.
