The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Adamawa State, Aisha Binani, is claimed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to have received N2 billion in exchange for her victory.
The party’s national publicity secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, told reporters in Abuja on Sunday that the party has information about the alleged payment of a sizable bribe in order to rig the election in the APC’s favour.
“We have information, in fact, a confession,” the man said, “that the REC, who had no business announcing results, did so after the alleged exchange of N2 billion.”

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate and a former vice president, has sounded the alarm regarding an alleged plot to sabotage democracy and incite violence in Adamawa state.
Remember that the Adamawa State governorship election is still mired in controversy because the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) announced the APC candidate, Aisha Binani, in violation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rule that gave the Returning Officer authority to declare election results.
The former vice president alerted Nigerians to a plan to thwart the democratic desires of the residents of Adamawa State in the state’s governorship election.

Sen. Aisha Binani, the APC candidate, was initially declared the winner of the election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State, according to a statement by Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe. Atiku claimed that this decision serves as a case study for the chaotic nature of the 2023 elections in general.
